Individual Therapy for Adults
A collaborative environment, fostering insight and growth.
Space for Reflection and Exploration
You may be seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, or looking for a space to reflect on your experiences. Perhaps you are going through a significant life transition, coping with stress, or simply wanting to cultivate greater self-awareness and clarity. I offer a comfortable and confidential environment, where we can explore together the areas that bring you to therapy.
Working Together
Building trust and safety is the foundation of our therapeutic relationship. As we get to know each other, I consider your feedback in our sessions. This informs our approach, and we make adjustments as needed to co-create a supportive alliance.
Our work together is grounded in a respect for the mind-body connection. Through compassionately exploring what is arising in the here-and-now, this gives us an opportunity to cultivate a deeper sense of awareness and connection to your inner experience. The unfolding process can facilitate insight and personal growth.
Each person’s journey is unique and as we proceed, we work together in a way that is meaningful for you. There is space for us to reflect on self-care and your resources, and simply being with what is present for you. Through awareness, presence and compassion, this can offer potential for growth and transformation.

Therapy Approaches
My approach to therapy is integrative and individualised, incorporating elements of:
-
This approach integrates mindfulness with other psychotherapy models. Mindfulness is about being present in the moment, paying attention to your thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations - without judgment, as they arise.
It can support you in cultivating greater awareness, acceptance, and understanding of yourself, and your experiences. There is a recognition of our shared humanity, and the interconnectedness with all of life.
I also draw on Focusing, a mindfulness-based practice that involves tuning into the 'felt sense', allowing for a more nuanced and embodied exploration of your inner experience.
-
We are all shaped by our early life experiences and relationships, which continue to affect how we see ourselves, and our place in the world. Psychodynamic therapy is one of the approaches I draw upon in my work.
It recognises how our past impacts our present, and how our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are influenced by the unconscious mind. Through integrating this approach, you can be supported in developing a deeper understanding of yourself, your patterns, and your beliefs.
-
Humanistic therapy is a person-centred approach that also informs my practice. It is grounded in the belief that each individual has inherent value and worth, and that your experiences and perspectives are essential to the therapeutic process.
My intention is to respect your autonomy and dignity, and work collaboratively with you. Together, we create an environment that can help deepen your sense of awareness and personal agency.

GETTING STARTED
01
Discovery
You can request an appointment by email, online form, or voicemail. I will let you know if I have an opening for a new booking. Please leave a clear message with your details and a description of your enquiry. I respond to enquiries within 48 hours on weekdays, once I have received your message. Where possible, we start with a short phone call (10-15min) to discuss what brings you to therapy, and answer questions. If suitable, and depending on my practice’s availability, we plan from there.
02
Assessment
The introductory assessment typically starts with two to three sessions, and each appointment lasts 50 minutes. Here, you have an opportunity to describe what brings you to therapy at this time, and to learn more about my approach. These initial appointments are more structured, as I gather necessary information and details. We make joint decisions about how to proceed, and plan our next steps accordingly. If we decide to continue, we meet regularly, usually once a week.
03
Exploration
Once we have decided to work together after the assessment phase, we explore areas that matter to you most. This is a collaborative process, where we pay attention to your experiences, thoughts, and feelings. The duration of our work together varies, depending on each person’s unique circumstances. We check in and review our sessions regularly. When it feels right to stop therapy, we plan the ending together to support a smooth transition and closure.
